We are actively acquiring technology businesses.
AARP Technologies is growing by acquisition. If you own or run a technology business, anywhere in the world, and are thinking about an exit, a partner or a next chapter, we would like to hear from you. We are open to anything technology-based, not just the areas we work in today.
Any business built on technology
We take a broad view of "technology". If your business builds, sells, supports or runs technology, it is of interest to us. The list below is illustrative, not a filter.
Services & consulting
IT consultancies, managed service providers, support desks, systems integrators, specialist contractors and professional-services teams.
Software & products
SaaS products, niche software, developer tools, data and analytics products, apps with an established customer base.
Infrastructure & hosting
Cloud, hosting, datacentre and networking businesses, security practices, backup and resilience providers.
Industrial & embedded
OT and automation integrators, IoT, embedded and electronics businesses, engineering software and tooling.
Digital & data
Web and digital agencies with a technical core, data services, AI and machine-learning businesses.
Anything else tech
If it is technology-based and you are not sure whether it fits, send it over. We would rather look at it than miss it.
What a typical deal looks like
Size. We typically acquire businesses valued between £500K and £2 million, and will consider larger opportunities up to £5 million where the fit is strong.
Location. Anywhere in the world. We are UK-based but location is not a constraint, and remote-first teams are welcome.
Stage. Established and trading, with real customers and recurring or repeatable revenue. We are not an early-stage investor.
Structure. Full acquisition, majority stake, or a partnership that leads to one. Earn-outs and phased handovers are fine. We are flexible on what works for you and your team.
- Owner looking to retire or step backA planned handover with the business in safe hands.
- Founder wanting a partnerCapital and capability to take the business further.
- Non-core divisionA larger group looking to divest a technology unit.
- Outgrown its structureA business that needs a different home to keep growing.
A buyer who has run technology businesses
Owner to owner
You deal directly with the people making the decision. No committees, no intermediaries slowing things down.
Quick, honest answers
We tell you early whether we are interested, and we move at the pace the deal needs rather than the pace a process dictates.
Your people and customers
We buy businesses to grow them. Keeping the team, the customers and, where it matters, the brand is usually the point.
